The Rams began playing in 1936 in Cleveland, Ohio
. The Cleveland Rams franchise
became known as the Los Angeles Rams after the club moved to
Los Angeles, CA in 1946
. The Rams played home games at the Los Agneles Coliseum until 1979.
The following year the Rams moved south to Orange County
, playing their home games at
Anaheim Stadium
for fifteen seasons (1980-94). During their time in Anaheim, the Rams kept the
Los
Angeles name. P
rior to the 1995
season the team was moved once again to its current home in
St. Louis, MO
.
In 1997 Dick Vermeil former head coach of the Philadelphia Eagle
was hired as the Rams new head coach. He remained head coach until retiring after the Rams won their 1st and only NFL crown in Super Bowl XXXIV
against the Tennessee Titans in January 2000.
