USC Trojans Basketball
The USC Trojans mens basketball program is currently coached by Tim Floyd
. The Trojans are an NCAA Division I team and a member of the Pac-10 Conference. The team plays in the newly built Galen Center. Sam Barry was the Trojans mos successful coach. He
coached the basketball team from 1930- 1941, and after his military s
ervice in World War II, returned to coach from 1946-1950. Under Barrys leadership the Trojans won the conference title three times and reached the NCAA Final Four for the first of only two times in their history.

Mayo,
from Huntington High School, ranked by some as the best prospect of the 2007 recruiting class. Mayo, however, will not return for his Sophmore year. He opted to participate in the NBA Draft at the end of his freshman year.
With Mayo leading the team and averaging 20.7 points and 4.5 rebounds, and setting USC freshman school records for scoring average, points in a season (684) and 3-pointers (88)., USC advanced to the Sweet Sixteen in the
2007 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament
for the first time since 2001 (and before that 1979).
