Just like in Los Angeles, the fans of the Florida Marlins are very much
the fair weather fan. There is much to do in sunny Florida, and spending
hard earned money on Florida Marlin game tickets is not generally what
the local Floridian calls fun. Barring all of the success of the Marlins, the
demand for game tickets just hasn’t been there. In the Florida Marlins short
existence they have two World Series rings which is more then most of the
league. They have had a number of future Hall of Famers go through their
system, and the Marlins continue to be in contention year after year.
The Florida Marlins play at Dolphin Stadium, The custom-built professional football stadium underwent renovations in 1999 to accommodate Major League Baseball. Renovations include retractable seating on the north side of the stadium, new baseball dugouts, 660 additional lights for suitable night play and an electric disappearing pitcher's mound. The stadium has played host to the Super Bowl, World Series, Orange Bowl and BCS National Championship Game. Dolphin Stadium is equipped with a turf system that provides drainage for its natural grass. The stadium also features a synthetic warning-track designed to absorb water. In 2007, Dolphin Stadium completed a $250 million improvements and innovations project, adding 360,000 square feet to the facility, leading-edge technology and other amenities.
With the success of the franchise and a newly renovated stadium, you have to
wonder what the people in Florida are waiting for. With the fair weather fan,
on the horizon in Florida, Marlins game tickets will never be the hot commodity
they should be.
